Getting there: Cairns Airport is Australia’s northern gateway, serviced by six international airlines and all major domestic carriers. Transfers to the city centre are a quick 10 minute drive.
Local food: Fresh seafood and local native ingredients. Try tempura bay bugs on lemongrass and green papaya salad with sweet chilli lemon myrtle dipping sauce. Or be brave and try salt and pepper crocodile and prawns with lemon aspen sambal.
